Years to maturity :
Years It is the number of years remaining till the time, your child is likely to begin his/her higher education. For eg. If the higher education goal will mature at say age 18 and your child's current age is 8 then 10 will be the years to maturity.

Estimated Increase in your Savings :
Yearly This represents the actual increase in your savings on a year-on-year basis in percentage terms. Usually our savings do not rise as fast as our income since we also tend to spend more, buy more assets, etc. We should assume much lower rate (say 0% to 2%) to be on a safer side.

We should assume a higher rate of inflation (at least 2 to 5% higher) for education costs, considering the lack of quality education institutions and the growing competition for admissions.
